Can someone explain how this is a free speech issue? They are both welcome to continue on and Trump didn't have their licenses yanked. As I recall, NPR gets 1% of their funding from the government and PBS gets like 15%.

Obama judge gonna' Obama judge, I guess, but this seems like a slam dunk overturn.

Congress already cut their funding. This judge is just blowing smoke for the sake of it.

It would help if you linked to the opinion so we can read it and decide for ourselves.

If there was anything unconstitutional it would go 100% the other way, as this is not free speech but government funded speech.

NPR gets more than 1%. It's just that most of it comes from affiliated public radio stations who receive federal grants. It's just an accounting scheme to make it sound like their dollars don't come from the federal government.

Read article yesterday and the whole article was about how judge overturned it for free speech. And author was emphasizing that. It is a such a poorly worded decision because cutting funding is not restricting speech - and a publicly funded radio that was anything but free speech should lose government funding. A complete joke and not based on any actual law or legal precedent

Congress should fund them 10 cents to comply with the judge's ruling and preserve free speech.
