I've seen buses get sideswiped, even T-boned and head-ons with cars. Not with each other.

Agree the red bus driver was at fault for that.

One bus had completely stopped and the other was barely moving forward. Not sure you can call this a fender bender because I doubt it bent a fender.

As hard as it is to get people to work nowadays I can't imagine the lowering of qualifications for a bus driver, which is an objectively terrible and low paying job.

I am not sure how close to the Pentagon this happened but when a I first saw the headline about this head on crash, my mind immediately went to a potential suicide bombing. Similar to OK City. How close do those buses get, was my concern.

A good while back I read that in the early 1900's there were only something like 5 privately owned vehicles in the entire U.S. but two of them managed to have a head-on collision.

You're likely thinking of a famous advertisement in Life Magazine for Mobile about the only two cars in Ohio in 1895 colliding. Probably apocryphal since no one has found any proof of the incident.
