I trust aiMDB ratings to decide if a movie/TV show is good or not. It also has a parental rating on several categories.

I wish it had a Woke/Based score to help me decide what's good to watch!

I wish the streaming companies had filters to hide anything you wanted to hide based on categories, but then they'd get less eyeballs.... would be very telling data for their leaders to have though as far as what content most people want

I don't necessarily mind woke in a movie m. But, what irritates me is the paint by numbers approach where every movie has to check certain boxes. It's like "here we go again…"

I love some of the more specific warnings like "smoking". Or was watching the original Peter Pan with grandkids and they warned of social injustices or some such I think in them referring to Indians. And you know it's hard to even find Brer Rabbit and Tar baby these days. Never once considered it as offensive.

My favorite trend I've been seeing lately is movies getting trashed because of who made it, not based on the content of the movie.

Backrooms is getting great reviews across the board but there are several critics that are giving it 50% and lower because it was made by a young white guy that hasn't been in the industry. And if it was created by a young female or minority the movie would never have been made.

Same goes for Iron Lung, a good movie made with a low budget by a guy that hasn't been in the industry long. But it got panned by reviewers because the movie should have been helmed by someone that has paid their dues in the industry.

The movie industry needs fresh blood and new ideas to thrive but woke Hollywood is fighting it tooth and nail.

N/M. Wrong movie. Was thinking about Pinocchio. That movie needs a warning.

Spend an extra 5 minutes looking at other sources...

I find IMDB ratings to generally align with mine so I use them. On the contrary, Rotten Tomatoes is worthless.

You'd have to have the entire entertainment industry do a complete 180 on their thinking and ideology for something like that to happen.

My wife used to subscribe to a website that would give you customized book recommendations based on your reading history and categories that you are interested in. The only category that you could not turn off was LGBT. She canceled the service because no matter what she chose or which books she said she did not like, nearly every suggestion ended up having prominent LGBT elements.

you assume the 'leaders' don't have the data and aren't producing the shows/movies for ulterior motivations... the history of mass media has been one of controlling narratives and shared stories across broad populations... the current media apparatuses are designed to foment disharmony and chaos across multiple(and growing) tribal affiliations.
