Wowwww..... Did not have that on my bingo card. Seems ridiculously flawed. ACLU arguing against the corporate overlords.

If corporations are entitled to free speech and are allowed to use millions of dollars to sway elections, why shouldn't they be allowed to vote? The government exists to serve the people (corporations that are legally considered people).

Maybe I'm missing something.

I'm John Doe. I live in Delaware and vote in Delaware. I also own a particular corporation that somehow by the grace of god and this idiot judge gets to also vote in Delaware.

So I get to vote twice.

That whole "one man one vote" thing seems to be at odds with this.

And how does this work practically? 1 corporation = 1 vote? Does each subsidiary get a vote?

Non-resident land owners have been voting in this town's elections for 70 years.

In 2008, the Delaware general assembly amended the law to allow entities that also own land in this town to vote.

This wasn't something a judge came up with on his own.

Would be more fun if you tell me a corporation can run for office.

It's very telling, that the Democrats want to 'trick up' the voting procedures, in every way imaginable.

The whole concept of 'each citizen gets 1 vote' is offensive to them.

They want no oversight, no verification, no safeguards, unsecure mail in ballots, illegals casting votes, corporations casting votes, etc etc etc.

This, more than any other action, shows how much they truly dislike their own country.

It wasn't long ago, things like this would have cause a revolt. Now it's just another Wednesday.

Sounds a bit like The City of London.
The independent city within London with the lord mayor etc.
I think corporations there get a vote as well.

But on a more reasonable note, I dont see why if someone owns property and pays taxes they dont get a vote.

If i own a house in Texas and a house in Washington, and may taxes in both, if I'm not allowed a say via voting in how my taxes are spent, that is taxation without representation.

Yeah, the City of London (not to be confused with Greater London, which since 2000 has its own mayor) has a rather interesting mayoral electoral process. Here's a good explanation:

For anyone wondering, that's 40,468,564 squares. Enough for everyone in Texas to buy one.

To be eligible to vote though first the male corporations have to register for selective service.

You would get to vote once under this law.

Quote:

These provisions shall be construed in accordance with the principle of 'one-person/entity, one vote'. Where a voter is entitled to vote by virtue of being both a resident and as an owner of real property, that voter shall be entitled to only one (1) vote; where a voter is entitled to vote by ownership of two (2) or more parcels of real property, that voter shall be entitled to only one (1) vote.

Does the corporation have pronouns too?

ha ha.
I will sit back and watch the free market capitalists contort themselves into proving why this is a good thing.

Also good. Now every scammy H1B will create an LLC and vote in a US election.
