US nonfarm payrolls beat estimates, up 172k.

Health and social services rose 35k. Financial activities jobs down 22k.

It looks like the last few months were revised higher. Most jobs gained in 3 month average since 2024.

Unemployment unchanged at 4.3%.

With the job market appearing to be somewhat stable it seems less likely the Fed will continue to cut rates especially with inflation the way it is.

Bond yields trending higher which is not great if you are looking to get a mortgage.

Seems we may be seeing rate increases, but yeah, definitely not any cuts coming anytime soon. Inflation goin to be a tricky bugger the next several months I imagine.

Oh??

I am old enough to remember when various posters were claiming the economy stunk because they knew people who were unemployed.

and I remember there were those of us who stated the ACTUAL EVIDENCE pointed to an extremely strong economy.

that was three months ago

I am also old enough to remember when 9% inflation under Joe Biden was "temporary and sticky"

and when job gains under Biden were "amazingly good news"

and not "well this will certainly add to inflation"

that was two years ago.

I think the economy sucks. I wouldn't say that government numbers count as evidence. I don't trust them as much as you do.

I don't trust US government numbers

but I know with the Deep State any numbers put out by the Deep State will try to help leftists and hurt conservatives

so when the information being put out by the Deep State is positive- the truth is even more positive

Unemployment is one thing, the cost of goods is something else. Wage increases are not keeping up with the price of goods. I work in manufacturing and we just got hammered with price increases. Expect inflation to rise.

The MSM just isn't going to report the this news. It's about chaos. They can't have the sheeple thinking things are going well under Trump.

I may be unemployed in the near future, and that will stink very much for me.

But then again it may be an early retirement, and maybe not stink so bad.

Did Americans get all these 172k jobs? Or foreigners? Were these located in the US or created and sent overseas?

What is the wage numbers of these jobs, low, high, mean and median?

Merely throwing a nice sounding number means nothing when we read about 10s of 1000s of layoffs every day.

I am skeptical as well, something is not right. I need more details about these jobs.
  • Are they even real jobs?
  • Have Americans been hired in these jobs?
Many companies create fake jobs and post them and don't hire or eventually get a visa person.

I demand the administration to post the job title, job location, company hiring, wage paid, nationality of person who accepted the offer.

If they dare to do so, you will see the smiles fade away.

Stock market is booming, job market is in the tank.

I am sure the reality is something along these lines, but so many gullible people have started dancing the macarena just from some number this administration put out.

ADP does payroll processing for companies. These aren't fake jobs. The ADP number seem to support the government numbers.

Right but I believe people are selling to buy SpaceX that is going IPO soon. At least that is one theory put out and may be somewhat true. Also, the Iran war ain't ending so that impacts.
Or maybe like I, no one believes the numbers in the report.

No it does not

it is actually the opposite

the leftist Deep State still controls hundreds of thousands of the worker bees in the Federal Bureaucracy.

they have no reason to push out positive numbers for a Trump Administration and every incentive to make the situation look even worse.

so ipso facto, if even the LEFTISTS are putting out good economic numbers- the truth is even better

One other point. The previous employment numbers were revised up. Good for people, bad for a rate cut.

The economy sucks for middle class Americans and the stock market is going to have an insane correction unless we print trillions of more dollars under Trump.
