And it has really jazzed off the local chapter of the American Federation of State County and Municipal Employees (AFSCME) because a local water treatment plant has subcontracted for goats to come in and clear out the underbrush from the plant's facilities. Imagine a goat doing a better job than your machine-equipped union workforce. Oh, grievance has been filed of course.

Goats are great at this. There's businesses where a guy releases goats onto overgrown lots and they eat everything in less than a day.

City of Austin / Texas Parks & Rec does this along town lake.
Goats, apparently, love poison Ivy.

The only drawback is that you can't pet the goats :-)

If what you do for a living can easily be done by a dumb animal for almost nothing, maybe have higher expectations for yourself.

Use Elephants. Much bigger and smarter than goats and if they escape, they are easily located. Also are fun to watch.

If they're anything like my worthless goats, they'll eat all the tasty bits and leave the majority of the brush untouched.

I learned a new term that describes goat eating behavior after adopting or goats, "Browsers". They run around the years sampling various bits, but make very little headway on keeping the weed down.

Plus I'd like to see the union protestors try and stand in the way of the elephants trying to take their jobs.

I saw this in action on a large lot in Atlanta a few years ago. Those goats were amazing. They ate everything within reach. Great for cleaning up the underbrush.

Looked expensive. The goat owner installed a temporary fence around the property to keep the goats from leaving.

Of course most of that stuff would sprout back, so I'm not sure how practical it is without some kind of herbicide follow up.

Not native to America. Maybe we can import them from India using E-1 visas

Goats only have 2 jobs:

1) Eat absolutely everything.

2) Make kids for cabrito.

Other than that, they are just like cats, except that they are smart enough to play dumb when they need to, can climb better, and are fairly uninterested in plotting the death of their owners.

Navasota has done this recently. Works exceptionally well. Fraction of the cost. Better results.

Unions are the mirror image of Democrats in pretty much every way. They are ruthless in stealing from you and doing anything/everything to hang on to power.

Dems aren't actually trying to solve problems, but rather perpetuate them to have a reason to stay in power.
Unions aren't ever satisfied with workers pay or benefits, rather keep pushing for more to convince the worker bees they need to exist. (The worker bees don't understand economics and don't care as long as they get "theirs".)

IMO after the Unions successfully helped establish the middle class, these Dems and the Unions have held back America from what it could be (massively) where people get along and anyone can have anything if they work hard enough, obey the law and focus on bettering themselves through education and by their actions.

That Unions use the worker bee's funds to promote Dems is understandable, they are one in the same.

I don't think you know me.

It takes two cattle trailers full of very hungry to make any headway on an overgrown piece of land

Off 105 going north near Navasota their is local goat farmer and his herd keeps his 4-5 acres clear but he has a bunch of goats and he only lets them out about once a week

We have 2 and they are out every day. Granted, they only have maybe an 1/8th of an acre on the 5 we have for the house. They are pretty darn entertaining to watch though.

We also have 2 bantam roosters that someone dropped on our road that follow the goats around like they are part of the crew.

Buddy of mine bought 10 acres on lake Ray Roberts. It was covered in poison ivy and they bought a few goats and tied them to trees. Rotated them around every couple of days. They absolutely cleared it all.

Southeast has used them very effectively to eliminate kudzu in areas. Pretty good YouTube video out there about kudzu and money wasted on herbicides and machinery but when goats introduced they were able to kill the plant after 5 rounds of grazing it down and making the plant spend its stored starch until it ran out and died
