https://www.wsj.com/world/americas/u-s-and-venezuela-join-forces-to-target-armed-gangs-in-key-mining-region-c8d338f0

Quote:

Venezuela has launched a U.S.-backed military campaign to target criminal groups in a lawless gold-mining region as it seeks to open the area to American investment.

U.S. officials said they are providing military and technological support as well as intelligence to Venezuela, once a bitter enemy, as the American-backed interim government in Caracas tries to rein in criminal groups that have long dominated a mining belt in the remote jungles of the country's south.

U.S. officials say the joint effort will continue, a sign of the deepening cooperation between the U.S. and Venezuela since the American military ousted strongman Nicols Maduro from office in January.

This was larger than just taking out Tren de Aragau leader a few days ago.

Quote:

The campaign's opening salvo was the targeting of a founder of the Tren de Aragua gang, Hctor Guerrero, who President Trump himself announced on June 12 was killed in a U.S. airstrike. The U.S. designated Tren de Aragua as a terrorist group last year, along with other Latin American gangs accused of smuggling drugs and migrants into the U.S.

Tren de Aragua and other crime syndicates have long served as the de facto state in swaths of Venezuela, controlling mines, collecting taxes and employing tens of thousands of people who flocked to once-pristine riverbanks and jungle clearings in search of gold and other riches.

To helping a country clean up the filth in their country.

No, I doubt we'd give a flying eff about Venezuela if they didn't have oil, but they do, so as the kids say, "Let's go!"

This was a huge success for Trump. It's too bad it emboldened them to bomb Iran without taking adequate note of the differences.

Five of the differences are Iran has been at war with us for 47 years, Iran is the largest sponsor of terrorism worldwide, Iran had built a huge number of ballistic missiles and drones and Iran is determined to get nuclear weapons to actually use.

I'm sure Trump took all those differences into account when he decided to attack Iran.

And Venezuela leadership is back to cutting off the power to much of the country for multiple hours a day. Spoiling food and making life awful for their own people.

But hey they're checking off some propaganda checklists for Trump! The job won't be done until they hold true elections, because Delcy will be voted out in a heartbeat.

Cmon Trump. Truly change the country for the better.

Rebuilding the power grid isn't the reason they're doing what they're doing. The moment Maduro got nabbed, power stayed on permanently around the country. The moment it appeared Trump was fine with the Delcy crew playing ball with his top level demands and an election wasn't eminent, the blackouts started again.

Yes they need infrastructure improvement but these are executive decisions being made there, not lack of power.

So, you are on board with full tilt regime change to remove Delcy? Not saying that's bad. You have a connection there, evidently.

If so, to what extent and involvement (full on ground troops, forcible removement of Delcy, etc.)

I am all in on removing Communist dictatorships from this hemisphere while we have the chance (before the resident US Communist Democrats get back control). Less Communism everywhere in our hemisphere is a good thing.

I'm full tilt on them having elections to decide their next steps, and those elections not being rigged like last time. When a leadership change happens their constitution calls for an election within a certain amount of time from the temporary leadership change.

The Venezuelan people are all just waiting to see what happens. None of them are happy with Delcy. She's a Maduro pawn. What concerns them is she will just say yes to whatever Trump wants in order to stay in power and that will be enough for Trump and thus it creates a sort of purgatory for the people there.

We don't need boots on the ground to pressure them into setting up new and fair elections. Promise Delcy amnesty and safe passage internationally in the event she loses.

If she is in fact, which I do not doubt, a Maduro pawn, then she knew and participated in his actions of which have landed him in our jails. Unseat her, disarm the pawn military members, and hand them over to the people of Venezuela for trial and likely execution. Complete purge and let the Venezuelan citizens determine their future. Flush this hemisphere's toilet of Communist turds.

Then, do Cuba.

That's because Iranians have magic. Those aren't drones and missiles, they're actually flying Persian carpets meant to appear as modern aircraft and weapons. They come from the genie's ancient magic lamp when you wish for Death to America or to rain fire on the Zionists.

Absolutely.

It is obvious that with 75-80% or more of the country, across the political aisle, want the Save Act passed (voter ID). It would be easy to poll all states to see how they vote on this, and then expose exactly what Senators (both sides of the aisle) is not doing their constituent's bidding. Expose them without a doubt, so that their constituents can bury them daily with calls, letters and absolutely make their and their staff's lives miserable.

But unfortunately that will never happen.

McConnell has happily voted against it. Stroked out TDS brain has screwed us over McCain style. If he had gotten on board, we likely would have had it done already.
