Does anybody have a recommendation for a really good mechanical and electrical engineering textbook? Maybe something that would be used sophomore or junior year?

As mentioned, The Art of Electronics. I'd add Measurement Systems by Doebelin.

For HVAC, can't go wrong with a copy of the ASHRAE handbooks.
