Its not mandatory, but they toy with the idea every now and then. It is mandatory if you live on campus you have to buy a meal plan.

Depends on your kid. One of mine could handle getting up a little earlier as needed to be on time so living off campus was ok. Other kid needed to roll out of bed around noon, grab something at Sbisa, and get to class.

It is NOT mandatory to live on campus at any time during your enrollment at A&M.

This from a current freshman parent.

One caveat- some of the learning communities or scholarship programs may require you to live on campus or in a certain dorm.
