Hope everyone is staying safe and warm!

My nephew who will be a HS senior next year will have 18-21 hours of AP/and or Duel Credit hours before college. Is the threshold to transfer in as a sophomore 30+ hours or is that number irrelevant and more major driven?

Their thought process is take a few additional classes during this fall "gap semester" to become a sophomore and increase the odds for Mays (current SAT only 1290). I can't say I see any fault with this but I told them if it was indeed easier we would probably hear of more kids doing it....?

For any transfer application, a student MUST have 24 grade hours post-graduate of high school. So their DC hours from school DO NOT count toward this requirement.

Also, Mays only takes in about 100 transfer students in the Fall semester. Most students pursuing this path are encouraged to achieve a minimum GPA of 3.75 or higher just to be competitive.
