Does anyone know of hands on math programs that are geared towards pre-teens and teens? Our son is 11 and has finished up Algrebra 1 and Geometry recently. I'd like to figure out some ways to fuel some of his aptitude so he can experience how "fun" math can be. He is a Crunch Labs fan and always asks for the "hack packs" - maybe we'll do that for a birthday or Christmas gift. I was looking for robotics or engineering type groups but haven't come across anything yet.

Located south of Fort Worth and we homeschool.

Get him in a regular school, private or public, sooner rather than later. He's clearly intelligent, but homeschooling has such a negative impact on their social development. At the very least, put them in sports.

How would going into public school math, likely 2-3 grades below from where he is now, help him in math? My question was about applied math, not socializing or sports, which he does get and is involved with.

If you are able to make it the Cowtown Invitational is June 9/10 in Fort Worth and is an FTC Robotics competition. Most FTC teams are High Schoolers but some are Middle School and many are "club" teams that often have homeschool kids. It would be a great chance for him to see some really cool things you can do with Math and be around kids that love building things. Would be a great place to get ideas. Cowtown Invitational

I
know lots of kids that are homeschool that are thriving at the college level. It's important to find social activities but that's easier than ever with so many that homeschool and different types of programs.
