I am currently searching for a job. I graduated with a background in business and economics in 2024. I worked at Charles Schwab post grad but am currently job searching. I am open to working in any industry/any role as long as it makes sense. I attached my resume and would love for any leads/connections.

I think what most people who read your resume will say is: put numbers behind it. Money saved, money moved, percentages, etc. Right now your resume reads like a job description of your tasks, versus you showcasing your actual results and accomplishments.

Examples for each job you had:

Charles Schwab: what was a potential portfolio total $? What was the total dollar volume in transactions you moved? What kind of call volume? Any other quantifiable numbers you can add, maybe some KPIs?

ProMondo: how many clients did you have? What is the potential marketing initiative value, even if not finalized? Expand on the Excel tracker and quantify what KPIs you measured.

Awesome advice above.

Also, this board is much more effective if you give a short explanation of what you have done, and what you would like to move into for your new role.

Simply saying you are looking for all possible options / fits puts all the work on the readers' shoulders to read your whole resume, and decide if you are a fit for X job that you may not even be interested in.

Do a little work for us and tell us what you are looking for, and you'll get much more useful outcomes.

Okay, thank you for the advice. I'm going to update my resume now. Right now I'm focused on continuing to work in the financial industry or transition to sales. I have interviewed for aviation sales, security systems but wouldn't be opposed to working in financial sales either. The financial industry has a lot to it and I'm not 100% sure where I want to end up in it or if it's for me to where I need to devote a lot of time towards becoming a CFP, CFA

I updated my resume. Hopefully this captures more of my achievements and what I had successfully done in each of the position I had.

That document needs some breathing room. Don't be a "one-page subscriber". Remove the months designations... they're pedestrian at this stage of your career.

The recommendation about numbers? The #, $, and % examples missing from your document? Move on that. Finally... less emphasis on what you want (I, me, mine language) and more on what you can deliver).

"Justify" the document content (page setup). It looks like a shirt that has been worn four days in a row. Square up that document.

You want more recommendations? Email me.

Good luck with your job search.

Blow out your work experience, to keep you in a 1Page.

Minimize your frat stuff and Men's sports league into 2 lines (at most)

Remove dates on that altogether, The frat dates say "Current". And are upside down in terms of current. Fix all that- or the fact that you had to be told to means your attention to detail isn't there.

If half your resume is stuff you did in college- and you've been in the working world, that's not gonna fly.

Also- you need to clean up your degrees.

That's the first question I'm gonna ask if this resume hits my desk- why are there two A&M Bachelors degrees listed? (The answer would likely be that you didn't have enough attention to detail to get it correct, or thought you would fool people into multiple degrees).

Also- take your .edu email address off and move to gmail at least. (Something with a professional user name).

You aren't in college anymore, no one professionally is emailing your .edu address for more than an internship.

Thank you for the insight. I'll definitely go over everything you mentioned and make those adjustments.

Thank you for the strict feedback. I just made all the adjustments that you mentioned. I think that should definitely help.

Just trying to help.

Your original resume is what gets you an internship.

Now you're trying to get a big boy job. At that point (and I see hundreds of resumes in this space)- eliminate questions. If there are too many questions, for the types of jobs you're looking at, you'll get passed on getting a 30 min virtual intro interview.

Post it again if you want another look

The other thing people are going to read right through- if you were an intern at a sports agency in MSP, while going to school full-time in College Station, you are better off labeling yourself as an intern. Sure, a no-name sports agency gave you a cute title, but if what you did was intern, label it as such. I'm much more likely to talk to you at that point.

I took out everything involving the fraternity and the philanthropy organization I was involved with. Might raise a question on whether I was social/active in college which I know we're trying to eliminate. Curious what you think about that. I cleaned up my degrees, started in economics and transitioned. For some reason the Aggie association lists "no degree" which isn't true. A lot of the people that I graduated with have that same issue. I have my framed diploma in my room. I need to reach out to the association to update that. Updated the email address. I was hesitant to remove the dates just because I don't want any gaps on my resume in terms of years. Then I added more to each of the professional jobs that I have worked. If that's something you strongly believe I should remove, I will.

Thank you for the feedback. Felt like you caught a lot of holes so I'm grateful for the help.

Put your years back on your degree.

You're going to get asked when you graduated, which is going to delve into what the sports job was.

*That's going to ruin an interview in a hurry* if you have to explain it was some thing you did while going to college full time.

You can add yourfrat/high school leadership- just keep it to 2 lines. Because you need to fill out a page.

Not trying to be a dck, really. Just see hundreds of resumes in this space a year, pass on a ton of them, and have questions in hand off the bat on some of the ones I take a swing on to interview immediately.

You don't want to get passed on bc there are questions on the resume, you don't want an interview to go short bc the dates didn't really make sense, you don't want to overembellish (bc that will likely be snuffed out), but you need to hit a full page

I would rather you be a little bit of a dck and give constructive criticism rather than see a lot of issues with my resume and I get passed on because I didn't fix it. I made the adjustments. I think it's good right now and will pass your inspection. I'll spare you some time and won't send it again.

Thank you for the help because you called out a lot of issues on my resume that I was aware of but never really changed. You pointing them out was probably a good signal to make the over-due adjustments

Hiring talent is my favorite part of my job.

You're welcome to DM me directly- a recruiter can only help you immensely (I am not one), but can point you to the right spots in DFW, depending on what you're trying to do next. And I know lots of them.
