Recent graduate. Class of 25.

Phycology Degree (I know... What do you do with that???).

Isn't tied to a geographic area. Matter of fact would love to travel or work in other parts of the country.

She has been project managing for my pool company while she plans her furture.

Very smart and good with people. She had planned to enlist in the Air Force (she was in the Corps at aTm) but has been denied access to the Air Force due to some previous ankle injuries. She would be good with entry level positions in many fields. She has a strong drive to serve, but realizes that may not be in the cards for her.

She is 22 years old, so she has accomplished a lot in a short period of time (at least compared who her dad who took the extended plan throigh aTm).

I can have her send a resume if anyone would like more info.

A lot of people who have that degree pursue a Human Resource carreer. Might be an option to look into, HR Generalist is an entry-level position in many companies.

Have her reach out to Colonel Allison. He handles the career readiness portion of the Corps.

She should know who he is. Depending on when she found out about her medical DQ she may not have interacted with him too much or went to a lot of the career readiness events because she thought it wasn't needed going active duty.

He is an awesome guy and will still invest in her even after she graduated.

He brings in a lot of businesses to speak and has a great relationship with the career center; which is also a great resource.

HR realm would likely be a good fit or Project management. Have her look at the Honeywell career page and if she finds anything send me a message here or email me @ drains 51 at g mail.com

Ask for a medical waiver.

Would she be interested in construction? I have a psychology degree too(how does that make you feel?) and I work for a company that builds utility scale solar, wind and battery storage.

We hire lots of recent college grads for field engineers (no, you don't need to be an engineer, it's just the title). It's a pathway to project management.

We work all over the country and are typically assigned to a project from 9-18 months. Salary is pretty good, plus per-diem and a company truck.

If she would be interested, I can be reached at my user name at the google mail service.

Admittedly I had to google this: Phycology is the scientific study of algae, encompassing their diverse biology, ecology, and evolution, ranging from microscopic phytoplankton to large seaweed

Sounds like environmental management or a biotechnology type program might interest her? Really seems like something she'd research ahead of time.

Wasn't Exxon real big on using algae as a new "green" energy source in recent years? Did they completely dump that, or are they still working on it?

Okay we need clarification because the replies are beginning to diverge.
Is her degree in:
A) PSYchology
Or
B) PHYCology

Gut is telling me the former but this board never ceases to surprise me.
