Are you class of 26? Your best bet at getting in is likely going to be enrolling in grad school and then interning while you're enrolled. Very tough (I'd say almost impossible) to get in without doing something like that.

Edit - I'll also tell you that this is way too broad of a request. Your chances of success will be significantly higher if you narrow down a more specific path within athletics. There are a LOT of different avenues to go down, and it's not going to be enough to just be interested in working in athletics because you happen to like sports.

Thank you for the advice. I've been interested in an analytics role with the athletic department with hopes of being a scout for a team. I've looked at doing it fresh outta school and that's kinda where I'm at right now.

Go to the worst law school that will have you and then graduate at the bottom of your class. That'll prepare you to negotiate contracts and extensions for our AD.

Start looking at Playfly, as we are switching from Learfield to Playfly in July. There are a lot of positions with them around the country and you could get on, work for awhile and move over to A&M after some time with them. Just a thought...

-network your ass off
-find a way to sell someone on what you bring to the organization and why they should hire you

As previously mentioned, liking sports won't be enough.

My advice would be to find an adjacent market where the work is similar and fulfilling and leave sports as a hobby. There are so many people who want sports jobs that they are hard to get and don't usually pay as well as similar roles in other fields. Getting a masters degree for a foot in the door on a $60,000 / year job doesn't make a ton of sense unless you're actively willing to trade dollars for psychic income.

You should reach out to nuno/Billy and see if you can buy them a coffee to discuss.

Maybe some projects that would help them to demonstrate your skill set and then ask for an intro
