GD....all I fn' asked asked was what year it was released I don't need a fn' dissertation on who starred in it and what it was about.

I have it set to brief mode and have turned off all the follow up sh.t. Why can't these devices simply answer the question asked and nothing more?

I just wish mine would stop changing the home content. I get that some ads are part of the cheap purchase cost. But every time I turn off all the random home content it forces on us, it comes up with new home content that I have to go back in and turn off.

Also the inability to remove the snooze feature on the alarm clock is annoying for me. I haven't hit the snooze button once in my adult life. 75% of the time I'll hit the alarm stop button, it'll register as a snooze. I'll be in the bathroom not paying attention and the alarm goes off again, pissing off my wife.

I've had some success cutting down the response length by switching to British English.Still talks too much, but better than before.

Mine constantly sets the volume to a low setting...that I can not hear. I have to ask every time to turn up the volume...then it defaults back to this lower setting.

Can't figure out why.

Tell it to cancel instead of hitting a button. "Echo, cancel" turns off the alarm.

Ours started recognizing our voices and it pisses my wife off. She will ask it to read our notifications and it will respond by telling my wife she doesn't have any notifications on her account, would she like to hear the notifications for our other account... yes.

I have several echos and one Google home speaker. I've grown to appreciate the Google speaker. It's more consistent, abbreviated, precise and knowledgeable than my echo devices. I also hate how it's usually an echo farther away than the one you're talking to that responds when you talk to it.
