BG3 or Zelda. 2nd rank are Spiderman and Mario. Others are meh.

I don't see how it could be anything other than BG3.

Zelda was good, but didn't hold my attention because I had just beat BotW and got burned out on it. Similar to what I have heard from people regarding Spider-Man 2.

Alan Wake 2 is a great game, but not worthy of GOTY.

TOTK has it in the bag.

No Starfield. Ouch for Bethesda.

Not so fast. Golden Joystick awards, although not the same, shows BG3 is very highly coveted (and winner of their ultimate game of the year award).

Totk's only main innovation over botw for me was the new hand ability to build toys or the pass through ground ability. Gameplay outside of that was very similar to botw. Not saying its not fun to build all those flying giant dong robots peeing fire but compared to BG3, its no question. Every new rpg is going to be compared to BG3 for years to come as a baseline goal.

BG3 should win, but Zelda wins because its Zelda.

The game was good, but not really award-winning in my opinion. It certainly managed to capture the wizarding world very well, but gameplay and story wise, it was pretty shallow and repetitive.

Overall, it definitely feels like BG3 is the game to beat. Zelda will get votes because it's Zelda, but BG3 just absolutely steamrolled everything when it came out, and got a level of attention we never see from those types of games.

BG3 should take this one away.

Horizon Burning Shores didn't make the short list? Wow.

JKR got cancelled. She had nothing to do with the game, but that doesn't matter. This isn't the politics board, so I'll just leave it at that.

BG3 is fun, but sometimes the probabilities don't seem accurate. When I constantly miss when I have an over 88% chance to hit, I get pissed and just put the game up.

I've been enjoying Lies of P.

Hogwart's Legacy definitely deserves a nod. I'm not really into Harry Potter and thought it was fantastic.

Lie of P is fun, playing it now as well. Definitely has some polish issues, particularly on combat design and difficulty scaling, but I feel like if they tighten things up for the sequel, there's a ton of potential. Easily one of the top non-From soulslike games I've ever played.
