the good for waiting
LG's 2024 OLED TVs could get a serious jump in picture quality thanks to a next-gen chip

the bad for waiting
LG drops ATSC 3.0 4K tuners from its 2024 OLED TVs and Samsung or Sony could be next

I have a CX and C2. They're great. I got the C2 as this years 3 models were coming out. If you can get a good deal, I doubt you'll see much difference.

If you want the best deal, now is the time to buy. I was looking to buy a C2 last year and the prices never got any better than what they were around end of November/beginning of December.

I'm still running a CX as my primary media and gaming monitor... it's friggin awesome!

I bought it at a decent discount near the end of its life cycle... I'd definitely recommend the same strategy for getting a 3 series.

I've heard good results on getting deals from www.greentoe.com

I personally have an offer to me for a G3 77" OLED for 3150...debating whether I want to pull the trigger or wait for the 2024 models. The MLA technology might go into the C4.

I bought my C2 on Greentoe. I guess it depends on which retailer you end up with, but the shipping process was a bit of a mess.

My TV made it to a warehouse in San Antonio, and then it just sat there for about a week. I had to make a bunch of phone calls, and it didn't seem like they had much intention of ever delivering my TV if i hadn't called. Ended up getting bounced around to about 4 or 5 different people before i reached someone that could make something happen. After that, they delivered my TV the next day.

Other than that it was great...

Same here. I haven't seen anything in the C1, C2, or C3 models that has made me want to upgrade.

My CX is my main TV and used for gaming on a Series X which it is perfect for.

I currently have Panasonic plasma with arcana hd fury and a hdmi switch connecting my Sonos, Directv, Roku, etc. Wife is tired of the hd fury losing connection, so this is my excuse to buy a fancy new tv. Leaning towards the G3.

I recently / finally caved in and threw away all the old stuff in "The Box".

You know "The Box"... that place where I kept all the RCA, Fire Wire, S Video, Optical, etc. cables in it. I finally decided that I was never going to use any of that stuff ever again. I'm going to be so PISSED if I'm wrong and need something one day!

You're old telephone cables, COAX, connectors and phone wall jacks are going to be critical to survival when the Zombie Apocalypse occurs. Old keyboard and mouse 2PCS connectors too!!

Just took a trip to best buy & now I have to decide between the LG G3 at $2300 and the Samsung S95C at $2400. Helpful best buy nerd said if he was upgrading himself he'd go w the S95C

S95C for QD-OLED panel unless you care about Dolby Vision. That is LG's big thing it holds over the Samsung.

My 65" S95B is a gorgeous panel and i got it for 1400 last year so it was a smoking deal but its so much nicer than my older LG OLED65B6P.

Ok after more research I've decided on the G3. Only change is that I'm going with the 77" instead of the 65" as our seating is about 13 feet from the tv. It's not every day your wife tells you to buy a new tv, so I might as well do it up.

This just popped up too. The G3 is a brighter set from what i see but if your room is on the darker side that may not matter as much.

Been meaning to follow up. I did consider the discounted sites, but decided to stick with Best Buy for peace of mind.

The G3 is awesome. Upgrade from 10 year old 60 inch plasma to 77 inch G3 is incredible. Out of the box settings were eye buring bright. Found some youtube videos to calibrate it, and I love it. Yet a small piece of me wonders if I should have gone with the 83"

Anybody need a Arcana HD Fury for cheap?

I got my TV in February. I went with the 77", and i'm starting to think to myself now "Man, i probably could have gone 83"... And my couch is only about 8 feet from my TV. I don't think it was worth the extra $1k at the time though.

I used the RTINGS Calibration settings for mine and have been happy with it. I know when it comes to OLEDs people always talk about the brightness, but the brightness on mine is cranked down to like 24% and it looks great.

Thanks for following up hoosier... it's a personal annoyance of mine when people ask questions in this forum, get a bunch of replies, and never bother to follow up with the outcome, a thank you, etc.

Glad you are enjoying the G3... that was definitely the correct move in my eyes.

The ONLY problem I have with my LG CX is that it sorta makes me turn my nose up at my other TVs. I've got a really nice Samsung in the living room (it was fairly top of the line when I got it 4 years ago)... I definitely notice the quality difference. If money were no object, it would be replaced with another LG!

How much better is the G3 compared to the C3? It's significantly more expensive…is the picture worth that step up in cost?

I believe there are improvements in picture quality, mainly brightness. You also have to factor in that the G3 is designed to be mounted flush to the wall in a way the C3 is not.

Probably not if you're on a budget. This was my Christmas present to myself as ordered by the wife. So I was willing to pay up. I'm sure I'll keep it 10+ years again also.

Bumping this thread. Is this tv really good? I got some points through my company and thinking about using them on this. I have a 2019 65 inch Alex Samsung, at the time was great but not looks like ***** It's has like streaks across it now. I was one month out of warranty.

Anyways I can get thing basically for free. Is this the best 65 inch ?

A few weeks in I love this tv. Should have bought the 83". Im a big Stars fan and hockey is great on this screen

I'll add the our living room has 3 big west facing windows. The glare has always been bad in the late afternoons. Not with this thing
