We recently ordered a Frame TV w/ Black Friday sales combined with the shopping partner perk from my wife's company.

We will mount the TV above our fireplace, we have a cabinet to the side of it where the box will go and there is already conduit running there from the TV. However, not sure the most seamless way to do our soundbar and I assume the speakers on the Frame TV are crap. We currently just have the soundbar on the mantle and temporarily just dangle the optical audio cable down to it. Obviously not what we want to do long term (moved in a couple months ago).

The mantle does have power in it, so that makes that part a little easier.

I was looking on Sonos's site and it seems I could put an amp in the cabinet, plug it into the Frame TV's box via the HDMI ARC, then broadcast wirelessly to the soundbar. Am I correct in thinking this? Even if so, seems $500 is expensive to just do this.

Would it be easier to just drill into the fireplace tile and run it behind the wall? With the FrameTV, will I have to run it all the way to the cabinet to the box now?

Or are there any other options for soundbars out there that look cleaner and sleeker since we're going with that look w/ the TV?

Get something like this that will mount to the back of the TV or the fireplace mount.

WALI Sound Bar Mount Bracket, for Mounting Above or Under TV, with Adjustable 3 Angled Extension Arm, Fits Most 23 to 65 Inch TVs, up to 33 lbs (SBR202) https://a.co/d/2SPyvHM

I thought about something like that. But feel like it would go against the whole point of the frame tv….

This is what we ended up having to do. And yes, it has to run from the cabinet with the box to the soundbar.

Yeah, don't use that. It would look like crap with a Frame tv. I don't think it'll even work with the mounting system on the Frame.

It wouldn't, the Frame mount is just an almost completely flush flat bracket.

I don't know that there's a good way to do this without drilling into the wall and connecting to the external box. Don't have a soundbar on ours, but I had an installer cut into the wall behind the tv and install a box with the outlet accessible so it's all concealed.

Is this audio from the TV fine, in your opinion?

I'd call it not great but adequate. Have a Beam connected to the upstairs tv and it's definitely superior, but for everyday viewing, putting a game on, etc., the Frame speakers are fine.

you'll want a soundbar with the Frame.

I would just bite the bullet and drill a hole into that tile (assuming wall in hollow behind it an you can get to the area with the "brains" for the Frame.

I have a 70" frame connected to a Sonos Arc and Sub. No way I would run this setup without a soundbar. Also, no way I'd mount a TV that high, but whatever works for you. Have you considered putting the hole just behind the top of the mantle? That's what I'd attempt.

We have the tv up and really like it. Just rolling with the tv speakers right now. Honestly they aren't that bad. Not as good as the Sonos but fine for me watching sports or my son watching paw patrol.

Did see an article talking about possible new sonos releases this year, one being a sound bar that can connect to the tv wirelessly. Will revisit if that does happen. If not, will look into Samsung wireless speakers more.
