I've tried using chatgpt, however I'm probably not asking the question correctly since the codes I am getting don't work like I need.

I am creating a Master file which has about 45 files linked to it. All of the files reside on a Sharedrive site under the year (YYYY) and then month (MM). At the end of the month, I would like to run the Master file and have a macro which updates all links to the current month and year.

Now each linked folder is found in its unique folder name for the month and year as well. However, the unique folder name doesn't change.

Keep trying chatgpt. You can "converse" with it, so if what it gives you doesn't work, try telling it what didn't work and see what comes out of it.

Also try bard, it's gotten better now.

Another suggestion would be to make the question broader and be open to a different way of doing what you want to do.

You could also try to do this using power automate, I think it could create a new file automatically each month with what you want.

If I understand, you are trying to append files together into one big file. If you, you could write a quick BAT file.
Also, Power Automate was a good solution.

Have you tried recording the macro and then checking the code to make it more automatic?
