Looking for one that will go in the attic and that I can send to all TV through our cable set up. I am looking at this one. Anyone have any experience with it? Would prefer to mount in attic, but can put outside if needed.

After doing a ton of research I have that one with an amplifier. Running into this hdhomerun: https://www.silicondust.com/product/hdhomerun-flex-4k/ to distribute the signal over my home network.

Also, I highly recommend grabbing the "TV Towers" app (I know it's on iPhone, not sure about android), but it will use your phones compass to point towards where the TV towers around you are and you can directional point to improve the signal.

I'm in McKinney, and with that setup I get around 70 channels over air with all of the locals coming through crystal clear in full HD.

How new is your house? Lots of the newer houses have foil backed sheeting on the plywood in the attics and that blocks like 95% of the signal in the attics. If you have that, you will have to externally mount it outside.

I just put a $50 GE Antenna from Walmart in my attic a few days ago because I couldn't get ABC 13 in Galveston with one of those pad antennas.
https://www.walmart.com/ip/GE-Outdoor-Yagi-HDTV-Antenna-Long-Range-VHF-UHF-1080P-4K-33685/52162885

I directed it to Missouri City, TX (50 miles away) where all the antennas are, tilted it up 30 degrees and I got 102 channels with all of the news stations, including ABC 13 with no picture issues.

Depending on how far you are and if there's no foil in your attic, you may not need to spend much on an antenna.

Also when the box says 4K compatible, it's a load of BS. An antenna is an antenna like it has been for over 30 years.

That's like in the early days of CDs when audio speakers were advertised as "digital ready". What was that supposed to even mean Mr marketing dude?

Can you tell me a little more about how you came to try this? I've played with antennas myself and I've thought about doing something similar (maybe 5-10 degrees) based on some comments I've seen elsewhere, but I've really haven't seen hard numbers on it or any A-B tests.

Thanks.

It might be less, that was an estimate from what I remember doing the other day. I don't know the exact number I tilted it up to but helped with my signal because I had it flat, though I may need to re-adjust after last night seeing my picture had some issues.

I cancelled Directv a few years ago, but the dish has still been sitting on the roof. So the other day, I took the dish apart and strapped an antenna to the base. Screwed the preexisting coax (which splits in the attic and runs throughout the house) into the antenna. Now we've got all the local channels on three TVs. Doesn't look great but works great. Thanks Directv for running all that coax years ago!

I wouldn't bother with using a booster to run the OTA signal to each TV. Get an HD Homerun and stream to your TVs or cellphone.

This website will tell you the direction of all transmitters within range of your house and which direction you need to point the antenna for best results.

I have a simple bow tie antenna (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000GIT002/) that cost about $20 10 years ago that is sitting on the decking in my attic. I pick up all the locals in Houston (ABC, CBS, Fox, NBC, and PBS with minimal disruption. Only time I have issues is on a windy day like today. I also pick up KBTX from College Station. I've got it hardwired to all of my TVs + an HDHomeRun that I access and record via Plex.

I love it not only to record and cut commercials, but it means I can subscribe to streaming services for sports that doesn't include locals.

I was pleasantly surprised at the number of channels I got once I hooked my antenna up (Dallas area), some of them pretty decent. Hell, they even come with an onscreen guide.

As a kid, I remember being excited when we went from four OTA channels to five.
