I have a Canon MF644 color laser printer that I can't seem to keep connected to my wireless network. I have noticed that the IP address changes frequently. Print jobs continuously error out. I'm curious why the IP address changes as it does. I also wonder if I relocate it to the same room with my router where I can connect it directly to the router, if that might make a difference.

I would look into whether your router supports fixed DHCP IP reservations as a first choice. If not I would just change it to a static IP.

Assuming you can connect it to the router (or switch) via ethernet, that should solve your problem. If you can't, see if you can hook it up via a wifi extender. It will think it is connected via ethernet.

We use these in restaurants when we have that problem with kitchen printers. Simple and easy to set up.
