How long do you want to ignore this user?
I mistakenly put this in the Aggieland forum so...

I installed a 3-unit Deco mesh system in the new house in June. I run Kasa switches, plugs, stream TVs, Reolink cameras, Yolink freezer monitor, and our computers on the network. T-Mobile internet is what we use. When the plumber put the drain line to the septic system, I dropped a cable in the drainpipe trench to the shop area, 70 ft away, and purchased a separate Deco unit which I installed in the shop. Everything has been working flawlessly. The shop Deco unit had 3 RJ 45 ports but the others have only 2 ports. My PC is hardwired to the main unit that is connected to the gateway device. I decided to switch the 2 port unit out for the 3 port unit so I could hardwire my wife's computer to that unit. I should have left well enough alone.

I have the home network working fine. I did have to reconnect all the Kasa components as well as TVs, and Echo devices. The problems are, my Reolink cameras will no longer connect (I will likely delete and reinstall the app to see if that helps) and the shop area items are not connecting with the 2 port unit. The unit itself shows to be connected and the speed test is good. I have an older TP-Link extender that has worked well also but now won't. I can't get the Yolink to reconnect. I also have an Echo Dot out there that will no longer work.

If anyone can help me figure this out, I would very much appreciate it. TIA.

Was your original house unit set up to be the DHCP server? Curious whether you've somehow put that WiFi network in a spot on the network that doesn't give clients ability to grab an IP address. See the diagram on this page: https://www.tp-link.com/us/support/faq/1794/

I don't understand why you had to reconnect anything if nothing changed though, unless you also created IP address conflicts at the same time. The Reolink app on your phone shouldn't impact the cameras' ability to connect to WiFi. It should just be a way to send the WiFi credentials over to the camera.

Thanks for the reply. I readily admit I should have left well enough alone. Looking at the link my setup looks like the first shown. Everything is now connected except for an extender in the shop that is likely redundant with a Deco unit out there and the Reolink cameras/doorbell. I will attempt to reconnect the cameras today. Even with the same network credentials, I had to reset the Kasa smart devices. I'm not well versed on some of the things you mentioned and know enough to be dangerous, as they say.

The Kasa switch issue could also be an IP address issue. I don't know a ton about them but my understanding was they communicate locally once set up. If a new or different DHCP server caused new IP addresses, that could be the issue. If you have mesh, you shouldn't need an extender, though.

If you put the main Deco unit out in the shop, that may be what caused this. That unit is what is assigning IP addresses and routing packets around the network. I would switch it back to the way it was before and see if that solves your problem. If so, I would just get a small switch to put where you need more ethernet jacks.

Thanks for your post. I plan to that next week. My "Doh" moment was why I didn't just add a switch for multi hardwire.

Did you change the LAN addresses on the shop? If the house uses 192.168.1.0/24 and the shop uses 192.168.1.0/24, then the shop router will have addresses in that block and both sides and NAT will not be able to work.

I didn't change any IP addresses. Looking at them this morning after reading your post, the 3 originals have the same number except for the last number and are in a series. The main one (at the modem) which I took from the shop that was purchased separately has a different one.

If the wan side of the shop router is in the same subnet as the three originals and the lan side is a different subnet, then that shouldn't be the problem. Have to look elsewhere.

I have switched the system back to the way it was. I didn't have to reset any of the Kasa devices, or Echo devices but have not been able to get the Reolinks to connect yet. I will delete the app and start over. We have to do this with the robot vacuum if the connection is interrupted.

Even though the Kasa items weren't a problem, our laser printer also won't connect now. Everything else seems to work fine.

Another part of the riddle presented itself today. The Reolink cameras and doorbells got connected. I have been going back and forth with Reolink's customer service by email which I have found to be excellent. One of the things they told me to check on the doorbell was to see if it would connect to another network or hotspot. I have been able to get the doorbell connected by hardwire but it would not stay connected via wifi when I removed the wire. I tried connecting using our guest wifi credentials and that worked. I ended up attempting to connect the first camera using the same and it connected and so on to camera no. 2. So they are all connected using the guest wifi.

My question to experts here would be why? For reference when I made the switch and had to start over, I gave it the old network name and password. Everything else except the Reolinks and the HP Laserjet connected with no assistance. Does anyone have an answer? Thanks.
