Has anyone on here built their own portable Bluetooth speaker? I've been looking at it and I'm interested in it because I don't have one already and I think I'm down for the challenge.

What have you built and could you share your plans or tips?

I have not, but this Facebook group keeps getting suggested to me. Didn't even know this was a thing.

I've done a lot of DIY stuff but a portable bluetooth speaker I think is somewhat out of the realm for DIY if you want to be able to match commercial offerings as far as quality of sound, size, and weight. So while I've built plenty of subwoofers and other things that's a project I couldn't even imagine building.

What kind of build did you have in mind? 3d print? pi internals with a class d amp?

Search "DIY Bluetooth speaker" on YouTube and/or Pinterest. There are a crap ton of builds ranging from very simple to pretty high end stuff with some fairly involved woodworking.
