If on android, swap your dialer/phone app to Googles. It allows you to report spam calls and auto blocks them from community reports.

No matter what you do, you will still receive spam calls. These people are not using phone numbers legally assigned to them through a carrier. They are spoofing phone numbers of others to spam call.

haven't picked up a spam call in forever on my android/pixel phone. You can see them in the activity log but it never rings you.

The spam blocking is probably the best pixel feature there is these days and the reason I keep buying them.

Missing my Pixel 7 badly. Moved to a Samsung Ultra 25 recently and I get 30+ Indian Spam callers a day. Downloaded ATT Mobile Armor and that rarely works. The Google software blocking spam calls was worth it and terribly missed.

Just tried Robokiller - $30 / year. Not interested in paying to remove spam. Guess I'll keep cussing out Indians

If only the industry could adopt some type of certificate authority approach that could certify to clients that a call or text from a phone number originated from the trusted source.

I've gotten to where I just block all unsaved numbers. If it's important they'll leave a message or quickly send a text.

I turn off the auto-block when I'm expecting calls. For example if applying for jobs, when we bought a new house so had various parties calling us for paperwork, etc.

Agree, I have an 8a and very rarely do any of the spam calls get through.

If you have Verizon, complain.

Ask for their 5 a month filter whatever for free. If one doesn't, another rep will.

Lol... the telecom industry spend money to make the lives of consumers better? I like your dream world!

It would be like all the energy companies finally deciding to harden our power grid. They aren't looking to just go spend that money, themselves.

Same...if you're not in my contacts you're getting blocked. I don't even bother waiting on the voicemail and will go back and fix the rare mistake later. My problem isn't the random spam, but effing account reps and sales vendors cold-calling me on work stuff (IT/Cyber). Do people really buy what are probably $100k-1 mil solutions off a cold call? I must get at least 5 a day...and they keep trying forever, can see it in the call logs after I block them. I just really have to be proactive in adding contacts (i.e. contractors, kid related crap, etc).

I mean... yeah. Granted, the majority of opps are not that expensive and it's definitely a numbers game. I never had much luck with cold calling, but I also didn't want to sit at a phone and make 100 calls a day.

It only takes one call at the right time to lead to an opportunity. If someone selling just about any IT work were to sell $100K per month in projects, that's easily $120-150K in yearly income for that rep, depending on the profit margins of said project. If you are making 80 calls a day, that's 2,000 calls a month. Just a numbers game.

I simply make unknown calls silent. If it's important they leave a message. But the phone doesn't ring unless a contact is calling.
