I'm an IT guy but have never purchased Chromebooks for a client before. This particular client does have a good use case for them - they just need to be able to surf the web on them in various places in the office. Employees will carry them around and use them when checking in customers, doing orders etc.

I've always purchased Dell computers but I'm open to other brands that come recommended. I have zero experience with N100 and N200 chips etc. When my daughter wanted a Chromebook for college I insisted on an i3 so it would perform well, and that worked out great. But most of the Chromebooks I'm finding have these lower processors in them.

Appreciate any recommendations and experiences you can share.

TIA

IT guy here as well and deal with Chromebooks on the daily. I would look into the Lenovo brand:
IdeaPad Flex 5i Chromebook Plus Gen 7 Intel (14") or
IdeaPad Slim 3i with Google AI (14") of course both with 8 GB memory.

Lenovo Chromebooks

my kid was assigned a chromebook in middle school and she used it through all of high school. Can't believe how long they lasted.

Another rec for Lenovo Chromebooks. We have 3 Lenovo 13.3" Touchscreen 2-in-1 Chromebook Flex 5 from Costco for the last 4 years and they have been great.

I supported retail stores for a while and we started with laptops to check customers in and eventually pivoted to tablets (we used iPads). It was a lot easier for those employees to carry around and use with one hand typing and not needing a flat surface to work on. Just something to think about for that use case depending on their process.
