Soooo.... yeah. I have an external hard drive that has sustained damage that I need to recover data from. It's a 4TB Seagate HDD.
I've gotten one quote already for well over $2K to have this work done. It's so high because there's platter damage and they rate it as a level 5 of 5 in terms of difficulty / time to recover the data. The company is Secure Data Recovery. They are pretty confident they can recover most of the data, but it's a full repair along with file repair job.
Does anyone have any other companies they've used for this type of work they'd recommend that I could get a second opinion on? That data is valuable to me, but that's a big number. Just want to weigh some options.
