I never played the original but this game looks pretty fun. I enjoyed Phantom Pain. Any of yall picking these up when it comes out on 8/28?

I'm getting it since MGS3 is probably my favorite Metal Gear Solid game, although I am very fond of MGS1-3

Played a little last night. Looks really nice, but after being used to how fluid the controls were in MGSV, this one is a bit dated. Will have to get used to it again.

Was hoping they would've updated the controls….

This game does have some of the most memorable boss battles of all the games I've played….top 3 in order being: The Sorrow, Boss, and The End.

To be fair, i played MGS3 Subsistence which did have a lot of first person views. You can play that way or the old school 3rd person view if you want.

I'm still amused that the Marines used the box sneaking from MGS in the real world to fool robots.

Have played up through the Ocelot fight. I realized quickly how rusty I am at playing stealthily though. I jumped right into things on Hard difficulty and its been one Leeroy Jenkins fest after the next so far.

When you get to that big base with the helicopter, and then later when you're scaling the mountain, I stop down for a few Rambo runs in a row. That's good **** right there. Then it's back to stealth!

I 100% goofed around there. In fact there is a building (where you get the TNT) that you can blow up and get an achievement called "Just Because"

Getting some of the film reels is maddening. Thank God for quick save reloads.

I stopped playing MGS games right about the time they became more like a movie than a video game. When cut scene time exceeeds game play time....I'm out. As I recall you couldn't quit the cut scenes either otherwise it wouldn't have been a big deal.

One other thing....I would assume that fans of the MGS franchise might also be fans of the Splinter Cell series.

Why this series was completely dropped like a girlfriend with gonorrhea is beyond me. I know the last ones left a little to be desired but I sure wish they would come out with the entire collection remastered. I would be in on that.
