Elementary question but I don't know the answer so I'll ask. Can you get the screen image on your laptop to project to a Samsung TV with an HDMI to HDMI cable? I know this can be done with a laptop to a projector using the HDMI connections. Thanks.

Connect it, change tv to that hdmi input, hit windows key + P (or fn key + F7 or F8 on some laptops) and select duplicate or extend depending on what you want to do.

You also may be able to 'cast' to it using Google Chrome on laptop and Miracast or ChromeCast on the TV (if the TV is on the local network [wired or wireless] and if it has Miracast or ChromeCast built-in.

An HDMI cable connection is the most reliable and highest quality.

For convince, wireless casting is great. Aggiez03 pointed out that chrome has that ability. So do most newer laptops.

Every once in a while, casting has a few hiccups or slight delay. Casting works really great for slides and presentations. Whether or not you share your display wirelessly or with an HDMI make sure your screen saver is off.

Nothing like being hitting your rhythm in a presentation and the screen saver appears.

Just a note that some types of content may not "cast" or mirror. Like playing Netflix on your laptop and trying to cast it to your TV (or a projector).
