Just curious if anyone has played it and what your thoughts were. My son ('24) worked as a VFX artist on the game. Obviously I have been playing it and have enjoyed it so far but I am not a gamer lol. Let me know what you think about it if you have played it.

I haven't played it yet. I enjoyed the first one, though, and I heard this one is better.

I have played the first one and have heard this one is better as well, but haven't played it yet.

As time is now more limited than it used to be with family, kids, etc, I have learned to buy games when I actually have the time instead of whenever it comes out.

After ARC raiders, I'll probably move to Dying Light: The Beast after that, but this one is no. 2 on the list.

I've played it for a few hours, got all the companions etc. It's a fine game. Basically a continuation of the first without following the plotline of the first game. This game doesn't seem as one-dimensional as the first but it still feels kinda empty. Good soundtrack.

The main plot seems interesting enough. Betrayal, espionage, politics are all pretty standard but seem cohesive enough to be interesting.

I think the companions are weaker this time around, but they have some funny banter on missions that I enjoyed. Aside from the healing powers I didn't use their abilities much. One character has a mobile workbench which was handy.

Lots of customization for skills and perks. But I found myself doing the same thing I do in all these games; make myself a sneaky, hacking lockpicker with everything else going towards speech. But that's on me.

I got it since it was included in GamePass but I would have been annoyed if I paid fully price for it. It's a solid 6-7/10 game. If they come out with good DLC and you can get it all under $30 I'd say go for it.

There is a "tossball card" hidden in the game of my son that I am looking for...some day I will find it lol.

Just an update on my play through of the game (if anyone cares lol). I finished it this weekend and I loved it. Found my son's card in the game and discovered quite a bit of things that I would have liked to have done but was unable at the time. I just started the game over again and am changing some of the things from what I did last time so I will have a different experience in it. I am obviously biased since my son works on the game (and is working on the DLC now) but I thought it was an amazing game with great graphics. I hope if you have the time and interest, you give it a try.

This is my new favorite studio. I didn't even realize it but I play through Avowed and loved it then saw Outer Worlds on my library list and loaded it up. I am now working through the first DLC for that game and have OW2 on my wish list for when it goes on sale.

Whatever formula that studio (Obsidian) is using works great for me. Loving these games! Most I've liked RPGs since Bioware and CD Projekt red days.

Good news, you have a hell of a back catalog to work through if you weren't aware of Obsidian before this game.

Checking out their page I have played several of their games years. Really liked Nwn2, Stick of Truth. I tried Pillars a few times and just a bit tedious starting and I lose interest. I will try FO4 once it gets a remastered and some of the others look good too.

Odd request but can you ask your son if they are offering any paid internships for this fall? My daughter and her boyfriend are both class of 27. Her boyfriend is in the visualization department and needs to find an internship for this fall as part of his degree, but they require it to be a paid internship. You can email me at kray1222 @ gmail .com.

Obsidian made Fallout New Vegas, which is widely considered to be the best Fallout game made to date. It's my favorite game of all time. You have to play on PC and download some mods to make it stable (it is notorious for crashing, they made the game on a ridiculously tight schedule, around 18 months) but once it is stable it is glorious. If your feeling really adventurous, you can download a mod called a tale of two wastelands. It combines Fallout 3 and FNV into one game running in FNV's engine. It's my favorite way to play it.

There is a rumor that remakes of FO3 and New Vegas are in the works.

I've heard but until I actually see it, I won't get excited. I already have about 600 hours into FNV so I'm fine with it as is lol.

FO3 remake was confirmed during the MS/FTC fiasco a couple of years back. Should be released in the next 1-2 years based on the schedule shifts due to covid. FONV is a pretty safe assumption to follow.

Fallout 4 was made by Bethesda. Obsidian made Fallout: New Vegas.

New Vegas, despite having dated gameplay compared to 4, is the superior Fallout game IMO.
