Please help me decide thank you. This would be my first Mac if I went that direction. Just general business/personal use.

Thanks. That seems to be the consensus.

Why a new Pro? Do you need anything the Pro can do that the non pro line cant do? You can get a M1 Air for dirt cheap now (New Open Box - $305) and it will work perfect for non gaming use.

Thanks I guess I just want something that's future proof and will last me a long time. I've had my current laptop (XPS) for 9 years and it's been great.

Yes, I was going to wait and see what apple announces. So you are saying I don't need the M5 chip and 64 GB of ram?? That's no fun.

I mean, I feel like spending 5k on a bad ass laptop that I'll get a ton of use out of for a decade is pretty good deal. Maybe even write a little bit of it off. What am I missing here?

Ok I think I'm going to take the plunge. How hard is it going be to get used to it for someone who's only used a PC?

My laptop is on my desk, hooked up to an external monitor 90% of the time. In that situation, would you still not think the pro was worth it over the air?
I often work with a 4K plugged in with a wireless keyboard and trackpad, and it works great.Stan Crowch said:
