Wife's iPad is going on 9+ years old. Was thinking of getting her a new one, or splurging for a MacBook Neo.
She does enough stuff online that I feel like a real keyboard would be helpful, but she also will surf the web in the evenings on the couch or before bed and I've seen her get frustrated with the touchpad on her work laptop. She has no patience for technology unless it's super user friendly. I'm the house IT guy and I'm sure if I died tomorrow she's be lost with the computer stuff in a month.
When I bought her first iPad some 20 years ago, she was hesitant at first and two weeks in "I love this thing!" b/c it was so much more convenient than booting up the home PC. Even today she still uses the home computer as it's just easier than the iPad at times (word processing, spreadsheets, email, etc.).
Neo seems like a decent compromise, although with out the touch screen.
