Anyone have any history with either? I live in Aggieland and looking for a change. Been with AT&T prepaid for the past decade, but their rates are getting close to post paid plans.

We use US Mobile instead of mint to get Verizon service on one of our lines. Cant say how well in college station but the service is great from them everywhere so far and the pricing is better for what you get. Might check them as a competitor. They offer a $10 prepay plan you can use to test coverage out before you sign up, psim or esim both offered.

I've had both and never had a reception problem with either.

I did have a customer service problem with Mint. A few years ago my iPhone got lost while I was near Yellowstone. I was able to get a new phone and sim card from Target in Jackson but Mint would not let me use the SIM card I purchased in the store to transfer my account over to the new phone. They had to mail me a SIM card for existing customers because the ones they sold in stores were only for new customers. It made zero sense. I could not even purchase an eSIM. It was ridiculous. Used a burner number for the rest of the trip which made me inaccessible to anyone who didn't have my burner number, frustrating. Canceled Mint the day I got home. Oh and all of their customer service is overseas and I could barely understand the lady on the other end of the line.

Also if you're planning on traveling to Alaska you won't have service with either one. The contracts up there are different. Need AT&T-affiliate or proper T-Mobile. That information is a few years old so take that with a grain of salt.

We've been on Mint Mobile for about 3 years. Only issue I ever had is there a stretch of road for about 10 miles on 183 between Cuero and Gonzalez where we didn't have service.

Paying $40 per month vs $120 with ATT is obviously worth that.

I think they mostly use eSIM's now so that likely wouldn't be an issue going forward.

To the OP, you're basically comparing Verizon and T-Mobile. I've always heard T-Mobile has faster 5G service in major metropolitan areas but lags behind Verizon in rural areas.
