But I caught my two biggest trout last weekend on a fishing trip in northern Arkansas. 4lb 6oz rainbow and an 8 lb brown. We were using ultra light tackle (I know should be fly fishing but this was a free trip) and caught 60+ trout during the day. Lunch was probably the most unhealthy meal that I have ever had... The guide took a full bag of charcoal and dumped it on the ground. On top of that he dropped a grill to cook on and slapped a giant cask iron skillet on it.
Into the skillet, let's just dump a full tub of lard and let that melt down. At this point, I'm looking forward to fries and hushpuppies with our trout, but no, we get to have horse douvers. The guide pulls out a 3 lb bag of bacon and drops it in the oil. Yep, bacon sandwhiches first! Deep fried bacon at that. Afterwards, he cooked the fries, hush puppies, and deep fries the trout. Also does some pinto beans. My arteries are already crying, but we aren't done yet. We get dessert... Strawberry shortcake.
So, an 8 hour trip with a full lunch, 60+ trout, two trophies, a mild sunburn, and a day with my dad without mom. It was a great trip!
