Good luck with the rescue groups. I tried to get one for my dads farm after our old border collie passed. The local Houston rescue group thought I was insane that the dog would be outdoors working with cattle and swimming in the pond and not inside 24 hrs a day with human attention. Crazies. Almost like they forget what these dogs were bred for.

If you are willing to pay for them, my sister does obedience/agility trials all over the US. She knows all the breeders. Bought her last two in Texas. So, what are you looking for?

How about this - I contacted a local rescue group a couple of years ago about a Great Pyrenees they had for adoption and they wanted me to sign an agreement that it would be kept inside at night.

Check ranchworldads and livestock weekly. Always working dogs pups being sold on either site.

Tried adopting a GSD after Katrina, same thing. I tried explaining that where I lived was heaven on earth for dogs to no avail.

I tried a rescue and never heard back.

The pup I ended up with is very happy. He's treated exceptionally well.

I have had really negative experiences with rescue groups.

I would rather just start fresh with a puppy.
