Farm use so weight/CDL isn't much of a concern (will have 10k axles).

I'll use it for many different things (hauling the skidsteer, mulch, tree clearings, junk, etc).

I was set on getting a 14' with 4' walls but am beginning to lean towards a 16' with 3' walls as I'm guessing the few times I'd want the 4' (mulch) isn't worth the hassle of very tall walls otherwise.

Anyone with 4' walls have regret of too tall? Or with a 3' wishing they had a 4'?

It also seems that the telescopic lift is more reliable than the scissor lift.

FWIW, I'm looking at the Horizon brand.

I've got three Texas pride dump trailers

16ft gooseneck with 4 ft walls
16ft bumper pull with 4 ft walls
14ft bumper pull with 3 ft walls

100% get the telescoping cylinder. It has never let me down and I've done some questionable loads on weight. I see many other guys at the landfill with scissor lifts or double pistons and they get stuck constantly. I never want to have to worry about if the load will lift or not.

I'd also recommend going 16ft. 14 gets tight quick especially if hauling equipment. And if this is just for farm use, I'd go 3ft walls. Easier to throw stuff in, easier to dump a tractor/skid steer bucket into from the sides and less weight. My 4fts are because I have a small business and often haul trash and need the interior height.

If you can swing a gooseneck I'd pick that. Easier to maneuver and higher weight capacity.

For me, bumper pull if using often. It's just a pain to hook and unhook a gooseneck all the time. But if you're not using that often, gooseneck will work and pull better.

always get gooseneck if you can. Ever had someone want to borrow a trailer, and you didnt want to say no and make enemies? you wont have to if its a gooseneck

We bought after market wireless remotes and upgraded from the stock corded remotes. Was a tad pricy at $600 per kit + time to install but sure makes it nice to not fight the cord daily.

Most trailer companies don't offer wireless remotes because of the liability. Before you ask....yes.....there have been people who have killed themselves by operating the trailer while laying under it and operating it. It's the same reason that some manufacturers stopped offering a 20ft cord length on the controller.

The Lodar systems are what most people use

$600 seems a bit high, but maybe not depending on which one you got.
