How long do you want to ignore this user?
So, I have an outdoor fireplace covered by a 12x 20 roof. The corners are 8x8 cedar which have bricks up about 3 ft on each corner. I just noticed termite activity on one corner. Natural cracks in the wood have obvious termite mud. How would you treat this? You cant get to the ground. I assume there is enough space down there for the bugs to get to moisture, but it is surrounded with bricks/mortar.

Is there a way to treat this above ground? Thanks

My guess is you would want to trench around the pad and treat with Termidor or something similar. While you can purchase these online and apply yourself, it is technically not legal. Might be worth it to just pay a professional. They typically charge by the foot of trenching.

Buy some Taurus SC and follow the label and do the application yourself. Also be sure to check the PH of your water before mixing your chemical. The pH level needs to be 6.5 to 7.5 when mixing chemical for optimal performance. There are products like vinegar that will lower the PH level if needed.

Pretty sure it's legal as long as you are doing it on your own property. You just can't sell a service without a license.

I really don't think so, but hope you are right. My understanding was that you need a professional applicators license to use. So they are policing the application, not where or for how much.

Doesn't matter since the access is easy. Would just reinforce the comment above to make sure and apply according to the instructions. A lot of these chemicals used to be available to the consumer but he messed up and used too much to often and now it is harder and more expensive.

Barrier treatment with Taurus or you spray the post with BoraCare. Either will solve your problem and you can apply both yourself legally.
