Some of you may not know - I pick up scrap metal to make extra money to save up for my food trailer. It's been really good to me. I have one scrapyard five minutes from my house, and another five minutes from work, so it's been extremely convenient.

I was picking up some metal this weekend. I had about 1500 pounds of metal on my dual axle trailer. I was trying to pull up in an attempt to back the trailer up. I was on a road; on the left there was no drop off; on the right, there was a 8 foot ditch that I couldn't see because it was overgrown. I assumed it was the same as the left side. But, I couldn't see it.

So, as I was pulling up slightly off of the road, here my truck goes into the ditch. I tried to back it up, but of course, the angle was too far. So, my truck is now in the ditch with the left side of the truck facing up and the right side of the truck facing down, while the trailer precariously counterbalanced the truck to where the right side did not impact the ground.

It's one of those situations where you feel like you are in a dream and it's not really happening, but it is really happening.

Luckily, I had grease the ball of the trailer hitch that morning, and there was a tow truck driver who lived next-door. He wrapped the cable around my back, axle of the trailer, and pulled me out.

No damage to the truck or trailer itself except an extremely small dent from where the back of the running board on the right side briefly touched the truck.; I checked the oil, and it was fine. Some oil had leaked out from the dipstick. No other fluids had leaked.

No other fluid leakage the entire weekend.

Plus, it was my wife's birthday. She was of course not surprised that all of this had happened.

Thankfully, I had my guardian angel looking over me, as did our football team.

I know a lot about a little, and a little about a lot.
