My first season in the north woods of Wisconsin and I'm struggling on these bigger bodied deer. The one up close looks young maybe 2.5, but he looks a lot older on the one further out. I'm thinking he's one to cull out if he's >3.5
This is why you don't age a deer on one picture alone, if you don't have too. He's immature and I would personally let walk - depending on the other deer his age and how many deer/bucks need to be shot.
If you are looking to fill your freezer and trying to find a good candidate other than a doe - then I'd pick your worst looking 4:5 year old deer. This one could be that deer.
