I'm trying decide between a Case tractor vs a John Deere tractor and was wondering if anybody had personal experience with both service departments?

United has amazing reviews, but anytime I see that many reviews it makes me skeptical if they're real. ASCO doesn't have enough reviews to know anything.

United Ag is a huge company. I suspect those reviews are for all their branches.

JD and Kubota are the two best tractors on the market for up to 100HP tractors. I am sure Case makes a great tractor as well.

I hear a lot about buying your tractor from the nearest dealer in case you need their service department. I have owned my tractor for over 20 years and have never had to use the service department of my JD dealer. I do get parts from them occasionally but they are shipped to my house.

This. I have a JD 3032, JD6615, JD 333 D and an older Case 580 D and none of them have ever been to a dealer for service. I buy maintenance parts and other basic parts that are shipped to the ranch.
The only tractor I ever owned that had to be serviced at the dealer was a Kubota.

I have used both. Each dealership is good and responsive. Just your preference of paint color.

I had a less than desirable experience with the United Ag in Bryan last summer (2024). The then Shop Foreman who moved up to Service Manager did and said some things that didn't set well with me.

They took care of me in the end, but my tractor originally left their shop not properly repaired and they never fully owned that.

Not sure if he's still there in that role as it sounded like there were some issues with him beyond my experience.

I now use the United Ag in Navasota since I'm in south College Station and it's six to one/half dozen to the other on distance.

My one and only experience with them was fine.

We bought a 535 from Coufal back in the day. They did what they said they would do and served me well until I upgraded. There were a few little things I had to tweak but was generally a decent experience.

Have had a tractor at the United in Taylor. It wasn't ready when they said it would be, and after another week there I got it home only to have to have them make 2 trips out to the farm to fix stuff they should have at the shop. I've heard of big farmers in the bottom using Shoppas in Giddings instead of having to use United. No experience with Asco, But have some friends as that went red instead of green and are now running 50/50.

How big of tractor are you looking at?

The older stuff you could get by with a mechanic other than the dealer. This newer stuff you will have to take there. Had a DEF header replaced on a 6120M recently., as well as seat work. Tellus had a guy telling me all the new seats were that way...which they were bc of defective parts. After a few months and several tries, it holds air as good as my 18 year old tractor seat. Even that 18 year old one requires a computer to fix some things on.

My 40 year old stuff can be fixed without a computer.

I'm only getting a 75 horse. Is the proprietary repair stuff really on something that small? It's the largest, until you get real big, you can get without def so that's why I'm looking at that size.

I did my research on JD, New Holland and Kobota. I found that for a 75 hp tractor JD was a better buy. It was a little higher in price but if you look at the specs JD is a heavier built tractor and the resale value is much better. I did not look at the Case tractors however I had two buddies buy Case. One of them sold the Case the other buddy is still running his. The JD 5075 is the tractor I bought. As stated earlier convenience to service departments is critical.

My tractor is a 5200 with a 520 loader.

I would bet you have to have a Deere computer to do certain things on it repair-wise. Warranty items, if you get into that, will of course be dealer driven too.
