What's the best place to buy this gun or get on a list to buy it? I know they go fast. It's been a while since I've made an online gun purchase. Do you typically need to provide FFL information at checkout, or can you add that afterwards? I don't want to get cart sniped.

I have no idea what fair pricing is on it but guns.com has them for $1750. Yes you have to provide an FFL. I have purchased from them several times and never have had an issue.

The price should be $1000ish or less I thought? That's way overpriced from what I understand.

I'd check GT Distributors

Unless something has recently changed, they aren't available for public purchase at this time. About a month ago, Glock paused civilian sales of all COA models to fill military and LEO contracts.

That's why you're seeing $1700 for the ones that remain available for civilian purchase.

Oof that sucks. Any idea when they'll be available for the public again?

Unless something has changed since then, they didn't not give any indication of when they would resume civilian sales.

I saw somewhere that said maybe up to two years from now.

I currently carry a Glock 19 gen 4 with iron sights which has been great, but when I upgrade to gen 5 I really want that optic installed. I thought about getting my gen 4 slide milled to install a red dot, but I'd prefer not to make aftermarket modifications like that.

You can still get MOS models milled to accept an optic, just not that particular model that comes with the optic.

An aim point COA alone is about $500-550.

I have never owned a Glock and don't ever intend to, but can someone please tell me why in the hell anyone would be willing to pay $1750 for a 19? Even with an Aimpoint? What is so desirable about this gun?

It's only priced that way because of the current market pause on civilian sales of the COA models. They were going for sub $1000 before the pause.

The ones you're seeing at $1750 are price gouging prices on remaining inventory.

Point of order. Supply and demand pricing is not gouging. Same thing as a $1000 select fire M16 selling for $35,000.

Why would you never buy a Glock? I'm not buying this one until they become available again at $1000 or less.

The desirability of this gun is the fact that the optic comes installed and ready to go from the factory and uses a new mounting method that is less prone to failures like you'd see with optics that screw into a cutout or using adapter plates. Those screws can back out or shear off, but the a-cut on this new Glock allows the optic to be wedged in and clamped down with the rear iron sights which reduces stress on the mounting screws.

Nothing personal, they are just kinda bleh to me. It's about sexy as a Ford Taurus.

And yes, I understand that looks aren't what really matter for a weapon, but why not get one with aesthetic appeal if it's all the same? Just my personal opinion.

At the time they were halted for civilian sales, they were going for around $850ish street. I am not a Glock guy, at all. But even I can admit that is a pretty damn solid combo deal on a renowned optic and even more renowned gun. I was even tempted to grab one myself at one point, it was that good of a deal to me. Combo deal you are looking at around -350 off easy.

I thought the same thing but decided about 3 years ago to have my 19 and 20 both milled (both are Gen 4). I can tell you that you should go ahead and do it and you'll be glad you did (unless you plan to sell it). Makes a much better gun. I sent mine to Agency Arms but I have a couple more Gen 4s I'm considering and will likely send them to the Glock Store during one of their sales. Any reputable operation is not going to screw up your slide.
