My 82 year old dad wants to go fishing. He is in good shape but has unfortunately started having dementia issues, but so far he is doing well. I would like to take him on a half day fishing trip to catch some fish and bring along my teenage sons. Type of fish doesn't matter. I have done a lot of bay fishing with Chad Peterek and other guides but wade fishing or even off a boat in the bay might be too hard for this group.

So any good recommendations for half day off shore trips, or even bass fishing, crappie, or even night floundering might be a good option. We live in Houston so Rockport to Galveston or inland lakes in area should work.

TIA

I can't give any guide recs because I haven't done this myself, but look up crappie guides on in Sam Rayburn. A lot of them have pontoon boats that will comfortably fit your group and with live scope will put you on plenty of fish for a good fish fry at the end of the day. Have several buddies that have done this and always get a good mess of fish.

If you want to do bass fishing on Toledo Bend, Lake Fork, or Rayburn I can make some calls to get you hooked up with a seasoned pros. You can PM me if you wish to go that route.
Crappie were slammed during COVID, and that, along with some other factors, have caused a decline in populations in some of the SE Texas lakes…..making it a little more challenging than usual.
Glad to help if you wish.
For saltwater/bay fishing you might reach out to SGrem here on the OB. Lots of guys say he's good to fish with.

Happy to get yall out for whatever he can handle. I take wheel chair bound anglers and wounded warriors etc so very comfortable catering to whatever mobility challenges.

LIVESCOPE is the primary "other factor" IMHO - pretty much wiped out the big fish in Lake D'Arbonne La when you can see size of fish and watch the big ones take your lure. Combining the technology with La over consumption culture creates a bad combo
