You folks know more than the home improvement board. B-1 83 Daughter has these #$&@s on her house in Ft Collins. They blow out with an open flow hose, or even a drip hose attached, so very low PSI. Replace the whole thing? Can the PRV be adjusted at all?

Being in TexAgs jail changes a man……..no, not really

Operation Manual

Doesn't look like there is any way to adjust it, might be a faulty valve or just set way too low. I'd replace it with a regular run of the mill hose bib.

I'd also get a better hose, that is screaming low pressure connection (looks completely plastic).

My frost free bibs had a sticker on them that specifically requested they not be used for "always on" or low flow drip.

Super annoying. But so are frozen pipes. So I don't know what to tell you.

I would see if it can be changed out for warm weather use, and then put them back on when it's going to freeze. It's a pain to do twice a year, but busted pipes are worse.

Just get a Freeze Mizer instead of chaning the entire hose bib assembly out that is connected inside the wall. Cheaper, easier and you don't have to do plumbing work unecessarily.

If it's an area where freezing temps are super common then get a true frost free unit where the valve is deep in the wall (might require a re-work).

Or just get the Freeze Mizer like Shemellba99 suggested above.

I would check local codes as well. The anti-siphon is more expensive and not put on unless required

They do suck, but it's what I have to work with. As a matter of fact, I went to the Walmarts here and they had no hoses. They had virtually no garden stuff out - all Christmas stuff. I guess nobody does fall and winter gardens here for some reason……..

Totally agree. I recommend Eley hoses and reels. I promise you, you'll think it's crazy to pay their prices for a hose, until you own one.
