Making a pie to take to this lady I've been in cahoots with, but can't find my recipe. Using a frozen pie crust, wanting to make the pie w/ the crumble on top.

Anyone want to help this compact Casanova?

Where are you getting the berries from?

As my mom used to tell me, 'Son, if there is one absolute in this world, it's that frozen berries will not get you laid.'

I use frozen berries all the time for cobblers. Put them in the pan, sprinkle sugar over them and let them defrost. I stir them every now and then to rotate and help the defrost go faster. With the sugar and the melted ice crystals they'll make their own juice. You can always add a little water if you want more juice.

Recipe:
4-5 cups of berries prepped as above
Crust:
1 cup sugar
1 cup flour
1 tsp baking powder
2/3 cup milk (more or less depending on how thick you want it)
Cinnamon to taste

Once berries are ready:
Pour a stick of melted butter over the berries
Pour crust mixture over berries
Sprinkle sugar and cinnamon over top
Bake at 400* for about 45 minutes or until done

This a more cake like cobbler verses a pie crust cobbler

That's funny. My mom used to say the same thing. But she did add "unless you can lick your eyebrows" to the end.

I got it from my mother in law. I think it's just an old fashioned receipe from back in the day that probably made its way into the movie.

If you're using store bought pie crust I would prepare the berries same as above. Just line a pie plate with the store bought crust then add the berries with a little extra butter and sugar on top. Cover berries with crust and cut some vent holes in the top. I would use the same 400 degrees and bake until the crust is browning on top.

Serve with blue bell homemade vanilla

Every time we wanted my grandmother's recipe for anything, she had to just make it so we could estimate the measurements. She never made anything that wasn't delicious. She's not around to get her recipe and neither is my mother.
Must be the whisky....
