The rock groins along the Galveston Seawall is also a good choice as it gets you out past the second sand bar. Freeport/Quintana Jetties you can roller skate all the way to the end. Or get on my calendar and I can get you out. The digital tagging system is very convenient and you can buy your bonus tag right there from your phone while on the boat. Absolutely. We release more than we filet. But there is no shortage. In fact we almost have too many. Giant roving schools of bull reds in the bays eating the other fish like trout.

Recreational fisherman cant affect the population of redfish with rod and reel following legal limits. Period.

But as fisherman I try to advise my customers in general to keep enough to eat in the next ten days or so without freezing anything. Fishing is way too fun to freeze fish. Fish and catch and keep your legal fish that you can eat this week. Then release. But ultimately its the customers limit to do with as they pls.....

Catching them good. They are playing the game well. Caught and released about 50 last weekend. Cleaned maybe 10.
