99% of these type videos, I'm asking myself, why the hell is there a random camera that just happens to be aiming at x, y, or z just in time to catch some action. Totally fake.

Yeah………..but not everyone has their camera aimed at an air compressor "before" someone just happens to show up to steal it.

Or aimed at some random spot in a field while they are driving, and lo and behold………. there just happens to be an animal in that exact spot that needs saving.

Reels might as well be called Staged.

Looks like the filming started after the car was backing onto the lot. The covered license plate would give me cause to video that person. Or, the same thing may have happened on another job site.

Also, those 2x4s looked real. I wouldn't want to get hit by them or nail gun nails.

You don't chunk 2x4 into a car w leather seats and hit the MF w it if it's just a prank. You can also hear the nails hitting the side panels. Thats not a cheap fix. You can hear the tires get hit a couple times too.

My guess is that first throw tore leather when it hit.

I don't know if it's staged or not but I know it's not easy to get nailers to fire in open air out without holding down the pad with a finger. Maybe framing nailers will. Anyway, I appreciate the spirit of the video anyway. Trying to steal tools of hard working Mexicans busting ass to finish a job and get paid is a certain recipe for some kind of ass whippin' at the least. If I were to steal something, I'd prefer to do it whe there weren't 6-12 able bodied and nimble dudes arms with tools and club like objects on site.

You must be working with amateurs. The first thing most experienced framers / roofers I've met did was remove the safety and wire up the contact.

Yikes. I could see that on the contract homebuilder side for KB homes or a tract builder. They hire whatever guys are cheap and those guys are usually jacks of all trades. My crew are professional 20+ year installers. We don't do tract home builds.

What was that movie, in the '80s or perhaps late '70s, where it focused on fighting back against crime. There was a scene of news reports where others had been inspired to do the same. One of the scenes had this guy who had jacked something on or near a construction site and all those guys went after him. The news reporter was interviewing one of the workers telling the story. Then the reporter asked, "but the guy was admitted to the hospital with several broken bones, a serious concussion, cuts and bruises all over. Can you explain that?"

Construction guy: "I don't know. Poor guy must have fallen down on the way to the police station!"

I can't recall if it was Death Wish, but it was one of those.

We were roofing a large-ish building at the Brazoria County Fairgrounds in high school and my coworker Scott figured out real quick how to hold back this metal guard on the nail gun and fire nails into the nearby power pole.

In HS & college I worked in a factory, we didn't have "nail" guns, but we did have staple guns that used 3" straight staples (like nails). We'd use a strap to hold back the safety so we could shoot at things. Took out the Arnold Schwarzenegger version of a cockroach doing that one evening.
