OB,

My MiL wants to get my FiL a birdhouse with a camera that he can watch from his phone.

She has enlisted my help to get him set up, but I have no knowledge of any of these that are on the market.

Please let me know if anyone has recommendations, or has had any luck with these.

We've bought the Birdfy camera off Amazon and installed them in birdhouses. They work great. They also sell Birdfy birdhouses with cameras installed.

My friend got the Bird Buddy for his wife and it is really good. Excellent video and tells you the species.

I purchased a bird feeder that uses the Ring cameras I already have at the house. It's nice to not have a separate video system to follow - plus some of the "unknown" cameras are pretty sketchy with their apps…

This is the one I found on Amazon a few years back. Just added a Ring camera.

I bought the Blink system from Amazon during Prime day. Only had it a couple days, seems OK. Reports are that batteries don't last too long.

Very easy and fast to set up though.

I've owned Blink cameras for years. They eat regular batteries, make sure you use lithium.

Had one of those. Couldn't walk 10 feet away after filling it before the squirrels were all over it. Birds never had a chance.

My local Sam's Club had Birdfy cams on sale for about $60 a couple of weeks ago. I got the last two, but there may still be some out there.

Installation was easy, and they seem to be well made. We're hoping we get something in there this spring. Our previous birdhouse had bluebirds and they had multiple hatches this year and it would have been cool to see.

Sprinkle cayenne pepper in/around it. Squirrels hate it, birds aren't bothered by it and it helps brighten their feathers.
