How is that plumbed? What do you do when it freezes? I'd like to put some guzzlers out in Atascosa County for the smaller wildlife but expect the hogs to eff it up.
See photo below. We just reduced it down off of the camlock valve on the tote to a garden hose thread and put a heavy duty 3/4" hose out to a float valve from tractor supply. This was with the old water pan before we replaced it with the larger and deeper tank. The new water tub is a rubbermade from tractors supply and has a built in place to bolt the float valve to the side, making it a bit more secure than the ones that clamp over the side. The hose is buried about 6" underground and has survived goats over the top for several years now with no issue. We stack rocks around and over the connection to the float valve to keep the goats off it and they have mostly left it alone. The raccoons occasionally flip them over looking for bugs. The float valves are freeze resistant, so we haven't had any issues so far. I think the low pressure in the hose and having it buried leading to the valve probably helps a little.
We don't have any hogs on the property so I can't tell you how this would survive them. That momma raccoon and her 4 kids go swimming in there probably 5 nights a week and they haven't torn it up yet (fingers crossed).
