Moles in Houston?

Question for you guys.

I think I have a mole or something similar. It almost looks like 2 drag marks from my pecan tree to 2 different crape myrtle trees in my backyard. But it isn't my grass, so I'm guessing tunnels and the ground has slumped? Each about 4"-6" wide. I don't see any access holes at either end.

Garden Oaks area of Houston. Thoughts?

Are you sure it is not a squirrel or tree rat wearing a path between the two gathering pecans and storing them in a hole in the other tree?

That's no mole.

It's entirely possible and why I'm asking for other opinions / suggestions.

We have 3 squirrel nest in the tree, but it's limbed up so the only way they can get into it is by the yard. And my dog has already got 2 this year. This GSP is a squirrel hunting SOB and I can't break him of it.

Maybe that's what it is since it's the only place they are walking (running for their lives).

If they're tunnels they should be soft and easily pushed down. Yes we have moles all over in Houston. My dogs dig them up and use them as squeak toys regularly in Spring.

I'll check when I get home.
