I'm cross posting this with food and spirits but OB gets more eyes and knows things. I have a colleague that really appreciates gin and I want to send him a gift. Budget is $100-$200. Does anyone have any quality recommendations?

i think the bottle I have right now is called "The Botanist" or something.. I like it, but I don't think it's anything small batch or fancy

Don't be poor, buy Nolet reserve gin.

T-10 is good and is good if you are mixing it.

The first four I listed are there because they each are very different. M-47 is there because it's the best widely available gin on the planet. Fords is the best G&T London dry gin. Plymouth NS makes a kickass martini but also mixes very well. Hendricks has that cucumber thing you can't get anywhere else.
I am not an Aviation fan, but some like it. Same with Gunpowder, it gets mixed reactions but I generally like it.
If you are on the east coast and can find Conniption out of NC it is very much worth a purchase. Roku (Japan) is also good but less available everywhere.
That's the advantage of buying a multi-pack instead of a very expensive unknown bottle, sooner or later you have to play the odds on a gift.
