THIS IS NOT MY DOG THAT I AM JUST TRYING TO GET RID OF!

Just getting that out of the way so no one thinks I'm just trying get out from under a dog!

The other day, we had this big beautiful girl (102 lbs) show up at our house (we have seen her wondering around the the neighboring properties for a few days). Well, she has decided to take up residence with my wife and 2 young kids and my back porch. She has not left our property since her adopting us lol.

We have taken her to the vet and had her looked over and checked if chipped. The Vet was nice enough to look her over for free, give her some flea meds, and verify she was chipped with an adoption center in Rockwall, TX, and is spayed. We contacted the adoption center and she is estimated to be ~3 years old. They got us in contact with the original adopter. They say they "rehomed" her about a year ago but have lost all contact info for the person they "rehomed" her to (supposedly some Craigslist connection). We have exhausted every avenue we can to find the owner, plastering facebook groups and calling around to different rescues/centers but have had no luck and the original adopter has no interest in helping further.

So, I thought I would check with the good people of Texags to see if someone might be in need of what appears to be an amazing and beautiful dog. She is incredibly sweet and gentle with my wife and my 7 and 3 year old. You would think they were raised with her and they were her flock already. She will even "herd" back the 3 year old on his little power wheels car, always directing him back to the house. She is a little shy around me if I make too fast of a movement (assuming a guy wasn't nice to her in the past), but rebounds quickly and comes right back up for pets and scratches. We have food tested her, taken food away from her, got in the way of her food, and she showed absolutely zero signs of any aggression or frustration.

She is incredibly good natured and temperament. Being brand new to us, she was very gentle and did amazing (better than our old pup) when collared, leashed, car ride, and vet visit.

There was a male stray that showed up with her, when she tried to get close to us, he attacked her, and she just rolled over and showed no aggression toward him, even though she was twice his size. Without us around they were getting along fine. She has also played and ran with our neighbor's pointer, so appears she does well with other dogs (and our chickens are still alive!).

We are recently off of having to put down our pup of 14 years and we are just not ready to take on a new pup and the responsibilities that come along with it.

All in all, this seems like an amazing dog, that is incredibly good natured, loving, and healthy. But we would like to rehome her to someone that possibly has a need for a dog that is built to herd and protect their flock or just looking for a gentle giant to love on.

Only downside I can think of, is the original adopter named her "Canolli" but she doesn't really answer to that so may be a non-issue

If you are interested at all or I can provide further pictures, videos, or answers, please let me know. My email and phone number are in my profile.

We are not asking for a rehoming fee as we just want to see this dog go to a good home with good people to love her and we have nothing in her other than dog food and a blanket on the back porch.

We are in the Forney, TX area but to the right person, we are willing to meet up to get this great pup a great home.

I have an antolian mix. He is the best boy. Has always let my youngest run his world. Walks without his leash, even in different places. Only fault is he will visit the school next door sometimes if kids are out bc he wants to play. Our new girl is part antolian too. So smart & sweet.

I hope they keep her. Great dogs.

Thanks for helping her! She seems amazing. Normally the original rescue would take her back under their protection. It's very unusual/odd that they didn't do that here. Shame on the original adopter for rehoming her in the first place. The horse/dog rescues we volunteer with and adopt from don't allow rehoming outside of the umbrella of the rescue. Plus, are pretty picky about who a dog goes home with. We are looking for long term, permanent homes. Not a whim of an adoption. If you check all the boxes but don't give my wife a warm fuzzy feeling, you're not getting the dog. Lol.

If I didn't already have 6 large, indoor rescued dogs I'd take her without any further discussion. I hope you're able to find a great, permanent home for her. I know you're not "ready" but the best dogs in the world know superior humans when they find them.

Good luck with it all!!!

Someone's missing out on a dog that will be very valuable if you have land and kids. Great protectors.

They are. My boy goes all over where he can on our land, walks with the husband around the tank, walks with me up & down the driveway, & goes with my girls everywhere they go outside. He's the worst guard dog, friends with the FedEx guy & weekend mail guy (he likes to jump in their trucks). Until there are coyotes around & we, especially my girls, are outside....he goes full on alert & goes after them when needed.

We've only had our new girl about 6 weeks. She's so dang smart. Took about two days to get her potty trained, an afternoon to learn sit & down. Working on land boundaries but she knows where home is.

We got my goofball boy off of TA 9 years ago, from I think this board. I wish I could found the thread & the poster (fostered him out of the Longview shelter, his foster name was Buster) to let him know he has been living the best dog life since we met up & adopted him.

Bumping to get some more visibility. Really need to find a home for this girl. She has been on neighbor's property now and he is less than happy about it. Crabby old timer that is less than fond of everything around him.

Anyone in need of a live stock guardian dog? Really wanna find a good home before we have to figure out something else for her sake.

She seems so sweet. I don't live on acres but I have quite a big back yard. I've got an older male lab, named Jimbo, (9 years old) who's friendly with the other dogs (especially females).

Let me talk to my wife and see what she thinks. I'm not far from you in Forney. She said she'd divorce me if I brought another dog home lol. I like to rescue stray pups, feed them and love on them, and find a great home for them. But I've always wanted a LSG dog to keep as my own.

Wanted to bump and see if you might still be interested at all or if anyone else would like to meet this sweet girl. Will likely have to further pursue a shelter or adoption center soon as we have plans to be out of town for a while and hate to just "abandon" her at home, and we are truly just not ready to take a pup on at this time.

If anyone has the desire and capacity to love on this pup, please let me know.

Man, bless you for your efforts and I sure want something to work out. I would consider that neat dog, but we have 6 already, one even an international rescue, and the wifa has told me that if I bring anything so much as a hamster or an ant farm home she will cut my nuts off in my sleep and let me bleed to death.

All our dogs are really good dogs, but the most kind, loyal, and appreciative one we have is a Pit female (and hypicritically I hate Pits except mine). When I took her in she was in rough, an understatement, shape and before I brought her home I had some friends keep her for a few days each as I got ready for her. What I am saying is that you are now somewhat emotionally vested in what appears to be an excellent dog. It might be worth the effort to see if you can figure out a way to keep her. I struggled with the Pit, but now 10 years later I give thanks everyday that I struggled through that scene.

Again, bless you and good luck. If I was close by I would volunteer to foster her and just figure out a way to stay awake at night for a few nights.

Maybe one final bump for her. She has been taken to Tractor Supply for a bath and did fantastic, both on the car ride and while getting bathed and blow dried. She has also spent some time inside because 68 is apparently too cold for a dog according to my wife.......... No problems at all inside and just lays around and occasionally comes over for a pet. If anyone can take on the girl, please let me know! We are in contact with some rescues and may resort to that soon if they can line up a foster.
